E-POWERPILLS ERASMUS+ PROJECT

Youth’s Creative Voice in Modern Media Language

A collaborative European initiative empowering young people and youth workers to communicate creatively and critically across today’s diverse media landscape.

Project Overview

Our project focuses on enhancing literacy through diverse forms of communication, including digital tools, visual storytelling, and interactive media. By combining creativity with critical thinking, we support youth workers and young people in navigating today’s complex media environments.

Alongside experiential, learner-centred activities, we provide practical resources, workshops, and digital content that make communication accessible, engaging, and inclusive so no one is left behind.

Background

In today’s fast-changing world, being able to communicate in multiple media is essential. Young people are constantly online, creating and receiving information in many formats.

Our project responds to this reality by helping youth workers and young people develop multimodal literacy skills: reading, writing, speaking, filming, and designing messages across different channels. We aim to bridge the gap between traditional education and new media, unlocking opportunities for every young person to succeed.

WHAT WE AIM TO ACHIEVE

Objectives

For Youth Workers

  • To equip youth workers with modern communication strategies.
  • To provide a comprehensive and ready-to-use digital toolkit.

For Young People

  • To ensure that at least 90% of trained youth workers regularly use the project’s digital platform in their practice.
  • To empower young people with fewer opportunities to express ideas more confidently and creatively across different communication modes.

HOW WE WORK

Methodology

Youth constantly engage with diverse communication modes like videos, social media, and podcasts. Our project uses these familiar formats as powerful learning tools.

Multimodal literacy bridges the gap between traditional education and digital skills, enabling young people to create and critically assess content they meet every day. Through hands-on activities, co-creation, and reflection, participants transform from passive consumers into active, informed creators.
